Recently I decided to re-read ‘The Alchemist’ by Paulo Coelho. The copy that I have happens to be a 25th anniversary edition and has a forward written by the author about his experience writing and publishing his book years ago. I don’t think I read this the first time I read the book so when I read the forward, I was surprised by his story.

Over the years I have seen a lot of different ways that artists portray themselves and their work. Some people I know are very private about their processes and others are not. So what’s the difference and why does it matter?  How do you go from photography to painting? This question has been on my mind ever since I started painting. How did I get here?
